Performance, script
Performed by Romana Widenková
A Watched Pot Never Boils asks: if waiting is inevitable, how do we live within its intervals? Caught in stillness, the performance reframes waiting not as a passive state, but as an active, embodied moment — a space shaped by both the history of waiting and the emotional texture of lived experience.
From the tension of preparing for a first date, to the quiet frustration of queuing in a shop, or the intimacies of cohabitation, the work reflects on how waiting is never solitary. It is always tethered to another — a person, a system, a possibility. Here, waiting is not just endured but inhabited, becoming a lens through which we navigate the temporal and emotional weight of the present.
A Watched Pot Never Boils is the first episode of the project What Happens If We Wait Together?
