Come Closer unfolds through a series of autonomous scenarios that reflect on how we come together and how we move forward. The performance explores shifting relationships between visibility and opacity, imagining the surrounding architecture as a temporary constellation of stages.
The audience remains standing, physically moving through the space alongside the artist, while the performance opens up distinct, imaginary scenarios that continuously reframe the audience relationship to the space and to one another. By treating the physical space as an environment where one is either hunting or being hunted by invisible forces, unwanted or pushy guests, spectators or seekers, the work teases out the tensions between proximity and distance, invitation and intrusion, asking what it means to see, to be seen, and to share space with others.
