Seven Views from the Hill consists of 11 audio interviews and re-enactments conducted with residents of the Strawberry Hill Neighborhood. In the audio interviews, residents explored this neighborhood as a place that is synonymous with their family history, dynamics surrounding the time of the second wave of immigration to America and the eastern-European identity and community, as well as reflected on their identity as Americans and belonging to particular ethnic collectivities.
Alongside the interviews, several residents re-enact historical texts from the early 20th century, which address the immigrant experience from both the perspectives of American institutions and the individuals themselves. These audio pieces highlight how propaganda was disseminated through schools, influencing the identity and behaviors that newcomers were encouraged to adopt in order to better integrate into American society.
